the lettering on the guinea looks very close to the edge,it was a habit in the 18th century to hire out your guineas for a short while for a shilling,when it was returned the gold around the edge had been filed off and the milling redone--what do you think ?
That's the 1924 you're thinking of. The British 1925, over 3.5 million & over 15 million all locations (& restrikes done in 1949, 1950 & 1951 with the 1925 date!), of course that's why I could afford the 1925
