Nice grade but has spotted. The mint wash wasn't clear off before striking.

 

Has a few nice die Clash's I can see George around the wing span. Sp 62 maybe 63,

 

If you have it s Cherry pickers guide check and see if this could be double wing variety. It has one marker I can see .

 

@jello I'm looking at it with my 16x loupe and I'm not seeing any doubling. I think what you're seeing in the pic is a trick of the lighting. What marker do you see.

 

Die crack on Right upper wing. But could be photo lighting

 

I think its lighting...these really shiny mirrored coins are a pain to photograph

 

Yeah SMS are hard to take photos of

 

Nice coin even with the spotting - Maybe 63? And is it the photo or is that "A" in "DOLLAR" on the reverse kinda smashed (die hit?) ?

 

It's actually pretty nice for an SMS. I would estimate 66 on it. Being that it's definitely not cameo it's not worth grading. A 66 would probably be worth $20? The thing is that SMS's were bulk handled and not minted one by one so they are usually a bit baggy.

 

@Markus1959 the A is definitly weak, the lighting makes it look lopsided, but looking at it with a loupe it has less of a relief than the other letters.

 

Just for reference, this one is graded as 66 Cameo by PCGS.
