These are booth from the FUN Show last week. In case you were wondering if it's worth the trip given all the world dealers being in New York that same week, I would say it was well worth the trip. The amount of world material at the show was astonishing, much-much more than I would have expected. Couple coins I did a trade for from Roxana.
I love the German coins and I also purchased my first Argentina coin because of the cool sun face ray design. Steve
I recently purchased these silver coins / medals that I find interesting and I love the craftsmanship. The roman one was posted recently for sharing. I'm not sure if these qualify for this forum but I hope you enjoy them. Steve
A family friend had given me this 5 Rand piece as a Christmas present. It's from when Nelson Mandela was first inaugurated.
My first German Euro Silver and it has a nice caramel golden tone and good looking piece . Enjoy Steve
I just purchased the South African R1 Presidential Inauguration silver proof last evening. Anything commemorating Nelson Mandela and issued by South Africa is very popular, low mintage, in high demand and often very pricey.
About ten years ago, Germany issued two of those National Parks coins. Yours (Bavarian Forest NP) was designed by Bodo Broschat; in the year before, a piece dedicated to the Wadden Sea National Parks (image shows prooflike version) came out, designed by Dietrich Dorfstecher. Until the end of 2010, by the way, the €10 collector coins (silver, Ag925) were available at face. Then the silver content was reduced to 625 for one issue (Franz Liszt); since then the "at face" pieces have been Cu-Ni. Christian
Christian, thanks for sharing some history much appreciated and the Wadden Sea is a beautiful coin. Steve
Here's a new pickup of mine. A Carolus IIII 8 Reales 1792 Mo (Mexico City) FM. Slab is NGC XF40. I absolutely love the patina. Also picked up a Carolus III 2 Reales 1784 Mo FF last week but I haven't taken pics yet.
