I am not capable of capturing its true color. It has full luster in hand. Everything looks right on the coin to me. just wanting to make sure I didn't miss anything.
I agree it does. I can not capture the luster of higher grade copper coins. I'm Mostly trying to see if anybody can find a reason it might be counterfeit.
Looks off to me, those raised up areas on her face especially the nose?? Unless that's just the pictures making it seem that way.
I don't see any red flags that would make me say the piece is counterfeit (but it's still possible as there are tons of fakes out there). The color doesn't look natural and the coin appears to have been artificially recolored and maybe cleaned. Even so, the value of the coin would increase and the piece would be much more marketable if you had it certified by PCGS or NGC.
It's going to NGC on Monday along with a proof three cent nickel. I just want some opinions on it possibly being counterfeit before I spent the money on sending it in. It looked good to me, but never can be to sure.
