Thought I would bore you with another FH This one is of Constans, a bit harder to find, but a few probably overpriced ones. Has some silvering left that made it interesting to photograph.
sweet, sweet coin, randygeki (yummy) ... man, I need to get more than "1" Fallen Horseman ... brutal, even I'm getting tired of seeing it!!
Nothing boring about it, thats whats great about ancients. You can see a hundred of the same coin yet none of them are exactly the same.
This reminds me of my favorite Gary Larson cartoon which had the caption: “Carl Sagan as a boy: Look, Betty Sue! There must be dozens and dozens of stars up there!” I feel like a failure because I could not find it online to link here but there must be billions of his cartoons on the Internet. There are 2200 give or take a few variations of the falling horsemen and quite possibly thousands of examples of some of the common types. I might suggest the above statement be upped by a power of ten or three.
Ty all, I hav one of FH of Constans will some silvering left, from the same mint, and 2 others without from Siscia I loved Gary Larson (and Carl Sagan).
I don't get tired of seeing FH's because there is so much variety in the series. The soldier on the OP coin has a nice flowing cape and scabbard, which gives him a sense of forward motion - a nice touch on the part of the engraver. And, as others have mentioned, the silvering also makes the coin special.
