I know that and I see both do make alot of mistakes. I prefer PCGS over NGC but again it all depends on the graders as well

They are both strict. Each have different standards by which they abide. The companies adopted the Sheldon scale but interpret it differently, just as do all collectors and dealers who refer to it. An apple is not an orange.

Looks like the seller made out BIG time. Why anyone would pay such a price, I do not know. I would rather buy a gold Kennedy half and keep the other 1/3 in cash for other goodies.

If I have that kind of maney to bid for $1,600 plus for an initial cost at $13.95. I would rather give that money to Krispy.

What happened Elaine? You used to buy 100 of ever new gold and silver coin the US Mint released, no?

  8. Today called the mint, no any answer. Just your order still in backorder.

yeah I called them several weeks ago and the lady said I would be the one in order to get my 11 sets even though that they limited to 5, but again just like you are at No new answer about when. To me why are they taking so long to send them. Since they are not sold out yet. This is getting ridiculous. I have never had to wait so long to get much of anything from the mint when they are not sold out yet.

I am loathe to purchase from the US Mint anymore. The reason is that last time that I attempted to buy something from them (a single silver proof set), they sent a damaged silver set to me, not once, but THREE times in a row. I returned them one after the other. The fourth one they sent was good...

Mine is still back ordered from 12/12. I asked a mint employee at the FUN show about this set and he said that if it is back ordered its just waiting to be fulfilled. He didn't elaborate :(

Thanks for the update for us. I guess that's about as good as answer as you're gonna get from the mint. Especially if that was there line to the actual people at FUN an not over the phone.

My guess is they didn't expect the blitz due to the enhanced finish issue, sold all their on hand stock that should've covered probably the first month of the $1 coin and currency set, and are now minting the remainders to ship out.

So mate in hand within two more weeks?!?!

These are neat sets and I'm glad I was able to order and receive a bunch before the put in the household order limits. Thought about getting them graded to see if I could score a PCGS MS70, but decided to cash in and sell most of what I got to another dealer earlier this week.

With a mintage of only 50,000 coins (or around 25,000 each if you count the Position A vs. Position B of the edge lettering), I think this coin will do very well in the long run... somewhere between the 1994-P Matte Proof Nickels and the 1997-P Matte Proof Nickels from previous coin and currency sets. Wouldn't surprise me if this set is selling for $75-$100 each in a few years, but I wasn't going to hold mine to find out... took the bird in the hand vs. the two in the bush this time around.

Good luck if you still have sets on backorder.

50,000 set for 2014 Native American $1 coin and currency set The is no way to know how many in the position A or B. And it will never be at 25,000 each. So the best way to get it and considered it to have a very few mintage. Is to have a pair of position A & B. Example. If we have 35,000 in position A and 15,000 in position B. Then the pair will consist of 15,000 set only. It will be much better than 50,000 set.

I open my box and checked one set. It was a postion A.

Currently average price at ebay reached $50.00. And traded as high as $78.00 a set.
