Largest purchase of nickels since I have started collecting. This completed set landed at the shop near me and I had to grab it. This series got me started and I am glad I am able to enjoy a previous collectors album that they put some time into.
Those early 60's proofs really tone up pretty. Actually never even thought of collecting Jeffs until I saw pics of the toned up coins Gbroke and Lehigh96 were posting. I've bought several of them (both NT and AT) and I love the crazy colors, the subtle pastels and even the black beauties. The color also keeps the 3 year old grandson and 11 year old nephew interested as well. That's a nice one.
I also picked up these Three cent Nickels an 1867 VF +with some nice Obv. die cracks. Around the date. An 1869 XF. that has a nice baby rim cud at 5K. and an 1873 VF.+ closed 3.
I like the three cent nickels. It was actually the first coin I ever purchased, I never even knew they existed thought it was cool gave the coin shop owner $10 and left that was 30 years ago. I've only bought one since. I need to get out more.
