I was picking through a dealer's inventory today and I found this 1972-S silver Unc Ike It is still in the OGP and is not graded, but I want to solicit your grade opinions. These are the best pics that's my iPhone could take. Please tell me
Nice looking Ike. It's gotta be a 68 to be give it any value. It's impossible to tell the difference between a 65 and a 68 with these images.
As Chris said, you need to break it out for a proper opinion. The OGP is not going to do it any good anyways.
your pics are a bit fuzzy but from what i can gesture im going with a ms66+ boredering on more of a 67
between th 9 & 7 on the date looks like a gouge or something off i might be wrong but either way the coin will grade very high./
Even at MS67, it's not worth submitting for grading, and I doubt that it would grade MS68. That isn't a cud! It's probably just a mark on the cello, and that is one of the reasons why I suggested removing it. The cello doesn't add anything to the value. Chris
Heh heh! That "cud" won't grade since TPG's won't offer a grading opinion on packaging material. Sorry.......couldn't resist.
Angelo, the reason I hesitate on giving it anything better than a 67 is because the cello can hide enough little nicks that would drop the grade lower. Chris
that was why I posted it Chris. the coin is super clean and looks to have no major contact marks. that said, 1972-S Silver Ikes are the most plentiful of the blue Ikes in 67
