I think it's probably undergraded and that's why the OP is asking us for our opinion, right? I am in the 66 camp.

The new cellphone photo makes me more confident in my AU58 grade, but obviously I am solo on this one. :sorry:

Whatever the grade, I truly think it would CAC.

I don't think that's the case. Some of the other recent GTG posts are liberally graded IMO. I don't think asking people to GTG implies that the coin is undergraded in their mind...

I paid $35 for this coin, which is a little high, but she spoke to me. Not sure whether to hope for a gold CAC or just resubmit it. Although I like it more I think in that old fatty!

Frank wins! MS65... (yeah right). In this particular case, I did post it because I thought it was grossly undergraded.

Nice coin. I would personally leave it alone. I don't understand the need for a magical bean or a new slab, unless of course you're planning to flip this coin -- I guess you're more a vest-pocket dealer based on your posts here?

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

The old slab is cool. Leave it there.

PS -- that coin looks every bit as good as many of the MS67 examples shown on PCGS Coinfacts. Actually, I'd take yours over most of them. :D

I became a dealer because in my previous career as a counselor, I was in danger of losing my family and not seeing my kids grow up. Yes, I have to sell coins. But I just want to say: That doesn't mean I've lost my love and appreciation of the beauty and history of coins. Not one bit, actually.

There was NO vitriol in my assessment that you were a vest-pocket dealer. I was simply saying that your decision on what to do likely varies based on what your intent is to do with it.

I agree that coin is "under graded" based on my study of more recently graded Washingtons from PCGS. It drives me nuts that the "rock solid" quality of these TPGs is actually a slow moving target...makes it hard to learn how to grade...ugh...

That coin is B-E-A-utiful and I'm with @brg5658, and stick by my earlier grade...that's easily a 66 and i would not be surprised to have seen that graded MS-67.

Great buy and good luck on the re-sale (if that is what you're doing), and I mean that most sincerely. I'll be interested in how the whole process this turns out for you. Keep me\us posted. Conversely, if that's going into your collection...congratulations on a great addition.

The details and originality are there, the toning is very nice, I'll say MS67.

That has to be the nicest "65" I've ever seen: nicely struck, and I bet you can't see a mark on it without magnification.

I'd leave it in the old fatty slab. If you want to pay the money than send it to CAC and try for that gold bean.
