Hi. This tiny coin weighs exactly one gram and shows Emperor Theodosius on obverse. I admired the sandy patina but cannot surely tell whether this is Theodosius I or II. As for the reverse, there's a full cross within a wreath that I rarely encounter that way on Roman coins, even on LRBs. I await your comments and opinions as usual. Thanks. Nice coin! Theodosius II, and you've got a nice big K in the mint mark to attribute it to Cyzicus.

    chrsmat71 I LIKE TURTLES!

i'm not certain 7C, but most coins of the type are theodosius ii...so that would be my guess.

ooops...JA beat me to it while i was typing. :) theodosius ii it is.

If there is ever any doubt, always remember that of the two Theodosii, only Theo II made this type, not Theo I.

I love Roman AE from Valentinian and later. You can identify most using this web site, which is called RIC IX since it begins with coins of that volume of RIC.

The cross-in-wreath reverse is Type 68 which is not issued by Theodosius I. Your coin is of Theodosius II. It is a nice example from Cyzicus. Most nice examples of that type are from Cyzicus.
