AU-58, I see a touch of wear on the eagle's leg feathers.

AU-58. There is definite rub on her breast and the eagle's leg.

MS 63 I really can't see the rub folks are talking about.

    I think we can all agree that it's a GDJMSP58 :)

I can't distinguish rub from toning variations in this single pair of photos, though. Could be 58, could be 64. In fact, I'm curious as to what the rest of you think would hold it back from 65. Without being able to rock it and check the luster, I have no confidence in my own ability to make that call.

I think what I am seeing is strike, but I cannot read the luster. I will guess 64, but 63 or 65 would not surprise me.

A lot of good guesses so far. I'll post the assigned grade about 8pm.

I think what looks like a rub is in the toning...MS64

It looks like there could be rub on her breast. I'll guess AU58. If I am seeing a striking issue, then I could see the piece grading as high as MS63.

Too tough to tell with that toning. No surprise that guesses here range from low AU to MS64.

    Here is the PCGS grade:

with minimal rub on the high points it's very tough to tell if this coin is MS or not from photos alone. I think anything from AU 58 to MS64 could be "correct" without seeing it up close. Definitely one for those who appreciate originality. At $100 I couldn't pass it up.

    Thanks for playing!
