Ok, some of you know me from the crazy Ancients guys. So, I ventured outside my comfort and knowledge area today and purchased this medieval crusader style coin. I know nothing about it including it's worth but took a step of faith and purchased it for a paltry $18. Good or bad, this will not break the bank. Please, if any of you sane and normal World Coins guys can put me on the right scent to identify this, I'd greatly appreciate your help. BTW, these are the seller's images. I do not have it in hand yet. I am way out of my element here.
not sure what it is, but I think you did pretty good, I like it! http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNKNOWN-MED...8353?pt=UK_Coins_World_RL&hash=item5b0a273fe1
I believe it's a French feudal denier struck by the bishops of Valence and Die between 1157 and 1276 AD here's mine obv: angel VRBSV+ALENTIAI+ rev: cross +SAPOLLINARS
Me too. Actually I thought it might be an owl. Funny looking owl. Well, I appreciate your assistance. Is it worth the $18 I spent?
nice to see you getting medieval bing! i'm not very familiar with these coins but from the few of the sort i've seen that looks like a pretty solid one! why the squiggles on the obverse and revers pics?
Sorry about that. It was suppose to say "logo", but when using this darn tablet it corrects you when it doesn't like the word you use.
