My coin shop has an MS-65 Morgan for $95, I think it is a good deal. My budget is normally not that high, but for that price should I take it next week?

    Thanks for any help

What year, mint, and who graded the coin?

I forget the year, but it was graded by PCGS

I'm no Morgan expert, but that's totally dependent on if you believe it to be MS 65. If it's closer to an MS 64 to you, then I would say it's not worth it.

The first question is, "What do you grade it?" The next question is, "What is the sales price history for this coin?" The final question is, "Do you think the asking price is reasonable?" Once you've been able to answer these questions, then the decision should be a lot easier for you.

APMEX will buy common date MS65s for $115 and sell for $155. So, it's a pretty good price IMO. **Note that the $115 buy price is on aggregate transactions over $10K. If you want to just sell them 1 Morgan they may pay lower.

If I bought it I would just put it my collection. Not sell it anytime soon.

The price sounds good for a 65 but is it a nice looking coin?
If it is and you like it, buy it.

The lowest Pcgs ms65 sold for $99 on ebay. So it probably is a good deal.

Agree with the posters who asked you about the grade. Not all 65's are created equal. If you think it's a solid grade or better, than I believe it's a good price.

Seems like a decent price. I'm assuming that it is an 81-S since they are so common in higher grades.

Actually, No, I remember seeing a couple 81-s morgans, but this one was not one and I remember thinking the same thing as you.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I would add the following questions:

Do you like the coin, or are you interested in it just because you think its a good buy?

Does the purchase of this coin push you towards your collecting goals, or further the completion of your set, or are you buying it because you want to accumulate coins?

At that price even if you don't like it you could still buy it and then sell it on eBay and make $20 after fees. I would buy it
