    ... sorry, I don't recognize it either (any chance you could give us slightly better photos and perhaps its weight and diameter and metal type, etc, etc ... is it magnetic? ... is it gold?)

    I'd say medieval but I do not recognize the type.

    Cilicia Armenian perhaps? But, yes, a better pic would definitely help.

    Try Eighth Century Byzantine, provincial mint such as Syracuse, a semis or tremis.

    The coin looked too good to be true unless in the hands of someone who would know it. The original is in the Ashmolean Museum. I Googled fake william conqueror coin and there it was.
