Ebay buyer to block

Yes, a long time ago. It almost seems like he was waiting until last minute to leave the feedbacks.

Last time I tried to "contact a seller" just to let him know the coins I received were toned when they were advertised as not being toned, ebay automatically opened up a SNAD case against the seller. I wrote to him and apologized, knowing that a SNAD case will tie up the proceeds from the auction.

There's definitely something wrong with this buyer, I was just trying to figure out what his motives are.

 

I worked in customer service for nineteen years, and realized that some people cannot be pleased. Unfortunately, this guy's attitude is affecting honest seller's feedback in many cases. Sure glad I'm not repairing this guy's car!

 

Looking closer at some of the feedback he left for others, it seems like he might have waited for the coins to be graded before leaving feedback.

Maybe he thinks he's doing the ebay community a favor by exposing what he considers to be shady dealers selling coins that aren't gradable. Not that I think any of the sellers in question are shady, but rather that this guy obviously has some unreasonable expectations.

 

Many of the coins he is buying are ungraded and being sold as-is. I know mine were. Why would he leave negative or neutral for a coin that is as-described, just did not grade how he hoped?

 

To me it seems like it's his own fault for buying coins he thought were better in the pictures. You always take that risk when buying coins without examining them first, ESPECIALLY on Ebay. I have boughten coins that appeared better in the pics that in hand. Whose fault is that? Certainly not the seller in most cases. Ebay's rules do not allow sellers to simply post a grade unless one of the big TPGs have already verified it. Ebay does not, however, keep sellers from posting a picture of a coin in a 2x2 flap with a hand written grade on it, as if a coin shop is selling it. Either way, this guy is not being fair.

 

Been thinking about this since it was posted, trying to figure out the motive behind it. Not that Im the sharpest tool in the shed, but the only thing I can come up with is..... he is trying to start a business, grading coins, and with no experience what so ever. He might be comparing coins to photos, auctions, etc.... He has the coins sold with the expectation of a certain grade, only to have them sent back below what he guarantees.....

Or maybe he is just plain, old fashion crazy. Very odd.

 

He might not understand the concept and culture of feedback on ebay and the effect it has on the seller.

On the other hand, he might just be a vindictive jerk.

 

Better yet, why would galleriacoinbuyers give this guy that many chances.

And who has $26 grand they can toss around in a month?

He doesn't need to have $26k on hand if he's using a credit card and returning the ones that don't meet his cherry picking standards. (90%, 95%?)

I wonder what the grand total on shipping expenses was that the sellers paid to ship these coins to him and to ship them back.

 

A closer inspection of the feedback "left for others" reveals that he left this feedback all within a few days or so gelleriacoinbuyers didn't have a clue in order to block him. But he's probably blocked by now.

 

I looked at gallerycoinsbuyers ebay stats, and I don't see any of the neutral or negative comments from the OT....looks like he was blocked.

 

What I have learned is that after the listing has been completed and delivered, if a buyer tries to communicate with a seller and clicks on ANYTHING other than "Other", eBay will automatically open a dispute.

I had this happen to a fella I bought a coin from and was quite surprised as a case had been opened.........but I never opened it.

Not that this has anything to do with this particular buyer but folks need to know.

I should have been more clear. Unless you really, really know what you're doing and the seller has clear, focused pictures, it's a no, no.

I won't take a chance buying raw gold on eBay. I'm sure there's some reputable sellers, but why take the risk?

Thanks for the tip. For anyone else interested in eliminating a bunch of whack-job bidders on eBay, go ahead and help yourself to my blocked list as well. I'm sure a lot of them aren't registered anymore, and to be honest, not all of them caused me problems beyond asking some truly stupid questions that convinced me that further dealings with them would be more trouble than it's worth.

There are a couple, however, who are truly horrible human beings! Feedback extortion and that sort of thing, demanding a partial refund before he would take down negative feedback. I complained to eBay and their response was that it was only feedback extortion if the demand for compensation was made BEFORE feedback was left, not after. Probably because eBay gets a big fat fee when someone requests to remove negative feedback they have already posted.

If you block no one else from this list, you should consider eliminating garcalli.
