I feel that the simple shield design is overlooked and underappreciated, it a throwback design that we would throw the bank at if were 150 years old (and not plated zinc).
Wheat is the clear winner in the poll here, but a modern that's worth a salt is in our pockets. Well I like the simple design anyway.
Searching Lincoln cents gives me terrible headaches. I don't like any of them.........but you didn't include this option in your poll. Chris
I voted for the wheat although I don't mind the memorial as long as it's bronze/brass. I will never like zincs. I don't care if they put Marilyn Monroe on the reverse. They represent, all too well, what our money really is-painted over rot.
Because the Reverse Design Detail is balanced, the Wheat Cent allows for easier overall grading of the coin.
Went with the wheat as I started out collecting them over 30 years ago. Is about the only way I like a Lincoln cent. I wish the ihc was an option or better yet a large cent. I can't respect a zincoln their base metal copper playted soon to corrode to unrecognizable junk as soon as the plating wears off. You can't even scrap em
