Your ancient coin reverse looks much like this one in my collection:
Copy of Constantine-1.jpg My coin has SMANA in exergue. This stands for something like Sacred Money and Antioch mint office number A. If you can read the letters in exergue on your coin, then you may determine precisely where your coin was minted.

I got the Guide Book to all the RedBooks. It is a History of the 1st RedBook going forward to current decade. Really neat to learn some of the background stuff.

Please let me know if your gift hasn't arrived yet. I know there are a few who couldn't ship until late and one that I dropped the ball on that went out late.

Opened my secret santa today. It was thoughtfully gift wrapped with a handwritten note which is a nice touch. I didn't think to gift wrap mine, but will remember for next year.

    Here's what was inside:

A lovely little walker. I might just make this my pocket piece for the coming year in place of the quarter I've been carrying. Thanks santa!

I just wish my person would log in and say they got it. I decided to send out another gift to a young forum member here. Sometimes I don't realize how truly blessed I am, enjoy the coin WS.

Wow on the 'dark side' guys gift giving. Gots a feeling my Secret Santa is one of them. Only know two guys from Arizona here on these boards and one of them lives out in the desert. My Santa doesn't.........Christmas Day will be the unveiling. :)

The gift I sent (2 weeks ago) is still floating around the great white north. I hope it arrives tomorrow.

Well at least there's twelve days of Christmas. I'm still holding out hope that you still receive your gifts though.

I haven't as much caved and opened mine early as much as I have needed to budget my available time ahead of the holiday. Presenting my presents now will also help to tempt and relieve others' anxiety about opening theirs.

I don't know from whom I received mine, but I really enjoyed the items curated for my present. My Santa sent a coin for everyday of the Christmas holiday and more! My Secret Santa sent a whopping fifteen coins, two of which are slabbed, some with silver composition, and a world of WOW! :woot:

    Here’s the loot:

    1861 Italy 2 Centesimi (M), Vittorio Emanuelle II Re D’Italia KM#2.1, Copper, Mintage: 54,212,000

1878 Netherlands 1 Cent, Koningrijk der Nederlanden (2x2 says 1876)

1939 Netherlands 10 Cent, Wilhelmina Koningrijk der Nederlanden

1954 Netherlands 25 Cent, Juliana Koningrijk der Nederlanden

    1931 France 10 Centimes (w/ center hole with “wing” privy mark) KM# 866a, Cu-Ni, Mintage: 49,107,000

    1926B (1930) Greece 50 Lepta, KM# 68, Cu-Ni, Mintage: 20,000,000

1958 Austria, Republik Osterreich 10 Schilling, Silver 0.640, Mintage: 27,280,000

1891 Great Britain (UK) Half Penny Victoria 2nd Portrait, Bronze, Mintage: 13,192,260

1900 Great Britain (UK) One Penny Victoria 3rd Portrait, Bronze, Mintage: 31,778,000

1942 Great Britain (UK) 6 Pence George VI, Silver 0.500, Mintage: 44,943,000

1944 Great Britain (UK) 6 Pence George VI, Silver, 0.500, Mintage: 36,953,000

    1951 Half Crown - George VI, Cu-Ni, Mintage: 1,200,000

    1944 Philippines 5 Centavos - KM#180a, Cu-Ni-Zinc, Mintage: 21,198,000

And the slabbed pieces — both are very interesting…

1919 Lincoln Cent - Wheat Reverse PCGS Authentic

I believe this to be a 5th generation PCGS holder with green label, but this coin gets no barcode or number being Authentic.

1965 SMS 5 Cent Nickel - NGC MS65 with some nice toning to boot! Love it!

It’s very hard to pick a favorite from this booty! I love the Italian piece, and the 19th Century Netherlands piece, but that large New Zealand coin is tré cool, and I love having an example of an older PCGS slab (I have others to add it to) and the SMS nickel is flashy and neat with tone, too.

Thank you Santa & Happy Christmas to all Secret Santas’ effort in this exchange.

Special thanks goes to Kirk for taking the challenge and managing the thread and exchange.

Happy holiday and kind regards to all!

I waited 24 hours to think it through and make sure I didn't stick my foot in my mouth then went ahead and stepped in it anyway. Sorry about that but the timing of your post right after acknowledging you received the package seemed related when it wasn't.

I chose items to try to open your eyes to an interesting area that won't break the bank. Late 19th and early 20th century world coins, many sterling silver can be had in very nice condition on a budget. On top of that, there are some really cool designs. I also thought you might have fun figuring out what everything was. I apologize for my snippy response.

Unrelated, I have yet to receive a package or acknowledgement of receipt from my recipient.

For anyone looking for easy online world coin look up... NGC World Coin Search, Numismaster's "Find My Coin" and Numista are easy and free web resources, and if you combined them, you can gather most all the relevant specification information.
