It all depends on the coins and how you want to store/display them. 99% of my coins are in 2x2 mylar flips and I am working on organizing them into plastic pages.

What kind of coins are you trying to store?

I've been using BCW slabs for my coins. Because that's how I want it to look, those cardboard envelopes that you have to staple shut just seem too junky and cheap to me.

    (Not my photo.)

just make sure there isn't any pvc in your coin flips if you go that route. most people store ancients in 2x2 flips.

    From their website:

    Coin Slabs and Snaps
    • Made from Polystyrene
    • Chemically inert (contains no PVC)
    • High clarity
    • 2-Piece, friction fit design
    • Fits all sizes of BCW foam inserts
    • Retail packaging

Note: Polystyrene is considered an archival safe material.

Non PVC flips seem to be the best.

As you've probably noticed, ancients aren't as "neat" or perfect around the edges as moderns are so the 2x2 flip will probably be your best bet. I get mine from Kointainer. I bought them from Vcoins.com. When you buy the 100 bundle they come with archival quality paper inserts and a red box to put them in. Think with shipping to US it was about $24.00.

PVC flips also suck. Because you can't write something about the coin? who is on coin what year, number of coin, because this is ancient coin! if you write on paper you wont see both side of coin?

Bojan, your response seem rather rude, but I will reply once more. As Jwt said, we place paper inserts in with the coin with all pertinent data.

. First, they're talking about NON-PVC. Second, if you would kindly take a look at a photo of one of these flips you'll notice it has two inserts. Its simple, really. One insert for the coin, the other for a slip of paper for all of the coin's information.

Oh, and quit the attitude please. Thank you.
