As i'm sure many of you guys may have gathered... I love my job. I get to handle some of the coolest things EVER. Today was no different. This coin came walking into the store in a shoebox with some other not so neat pieces. Shame about the rim issues... but still not a coin that you see walking in. I await Frank's hatred....
Beautiful. You need to buy a go pro and simply turn it on when you arrive to work. Thanks in advance. Edit: upon research I read this is between $7500 and $27k. Is this correct. Good grief!
Shoebox, was it the same person who beat up that 1870 proof set a while back? Did you yell at them for not protecting it better? I would have at least given them the stink eye.
Killer coin. One I've always wanted but can't yet afford. Was it ex jewelry? One of the best looking coins ever made in my opinion! Hopefully I'll get one someday when I take this business more serious and can slow down on my regular work.
Looks like a AU rim dings shouldn't kill value, $7k or higher. Sellers shouldn't take their first offers by any means, but get several and get the coins certified themselves or wait for them to come back from NGC/PCGS. Restoration people (CRS/Stockton) have been known to fix coins like this so they grade.
Here I am. I am in the ER, currently receiving treatment for acute anxiety and a strong desire to move to your town!
Two days in a row Matt ? Really ? Well, I'm not like Frank, I don't hate you. But I think I'm gonna revive something that I haven't seen on the forums in quite a few years - YOU SUCK !!
Frank hates me in a brotherly sort of way.. (I think)... Thanks Doug... Glad to get the You Suck award!! Haha!
