Galeria Valeria AE Follis. Struck 309-310 AD. OBV: GAL VALERIA AVG, Diademed & draped bust right. REV: VENERI VICTRICI, Venus standing facing, head left, holding apple upwards and raising drapery, HTB in ex. REF: RIC Heraclea 43-B, Sear 14593. This is definitely a slot filler that I got for $9 as a last minute purchase. This is also my 89th Roman Imperial ruler. I will pass 90 when I'm done which will trigger a milestone celebration for myself. This coin is in the mail and should arrive barring any mishap. Galeria Valeria is also one of the last easily obtainable coins in the Tetrarchy period. The only ones left are; Domitius Domitianus Romulus Alexander Tyrannus Martinian Valerius Valens The only one I might have a chance of obtaining is Romulus son of Maxentius. One of the lower priced ones is about $400+ so forget it. Alexander Tyrannus can sell around 4 figures if available. Domitius Domitianus another 4 figured coin if available. Martinian Another 4 figured coin. Romulus is the cheapest one. Valerius Valens - A five figured coin at various auction houses.
Nice addition and congrats on getting closer to your milestone. $400? I hear a kidney is worth a lot more than that. j.k don't do that, seriously.
I figured it is a slot filler because it's the worst one I've seen on the market right now and it was $9.
Hahaha, no. All the coins are already purchased, all that needs to be done to receive in the mail and they also need to be posted. As far as the celebration is concerned, you'll see.
Nice new chick-coin pickup (congrats) ... sadly, I don't have a Valeria Galeria example to toss into your thread (*rats*)
Very nice coins everyone. Yeah, she ain't too difficult to obtain. Although, getting a decent lower priced coin is another matter. I often use the advanced search options at VCoins, Ebay, etc to view the new coins coming in. I saw this one and added it to my wish list which I use for bookmarking coins.
