Notice the ear and cheek damage. That is the direct result of being stored in a roll. I suspect you will see this on many more from that roll. The really good ones will not show this flattening. The best ones will be doubling varieties. The very best is the prominent doubling variety that is super collectable and sought after…imo…Spark
In my sophomore year, Virginia Tech was still the informal name for Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, but it was taking over. Anything with "Tech" in the name, especially if it came from outside, carried some extra cachet. So we cajoled one of our neighbors, a student from the Pittsburg area, into bringing down some of this beer. The bottles were popular. The beer inside, not so much. I remember one drunken student (who shall remain nameless) relieving himself into an empty bottle, because, as he put it, "who could tell the difference?"
