Holy Cow..Thanks to my Secret Santa! I love it. Reindeer Indian!!! I am going to play it safe right now and call it Mauryan Empire Mint of Ujjain (?) AR Karshapana The coin appears to have in circulation during the reign of Ashoka the Great but may have been minted earlier and stamped under Ashoka. (Center Reverse). Without researching the coin it appears to have several very large and clear punches. The obverse appears to have half of the six armed symbol, with a sprawling lion (rabbit stamp) imposed on it. A framed bull? A double ring symbol, Maybe Chandragupta Maurya? a Reindeer eating leaves. Now I realize the coin is extra interesting, the Ashoka symbol on the reverse mixed with another symbol probably a window shaped tree. The coin has a total of 7 different counter stamps, rather than the usual 5. Shows that good circulation. I will play it safe and say 4th to 2nd century BC.
