    Yup, there is just something about the obverse that keeps me coming-back for another peek!! (sooooo awesome!!) ... I am so thrilled with today's scores!!

    It looks like the lion is chompin'-on Herakles' head!! (very cool coin)

    I myself do not have severe budget issues so i buy what catches my eye and has a certain charm. Couple days ago i bought a $700 coin and yesterday a $32 coin. And i will get that good feeling when either show up in my mailbox.

    But i very much enjoy the "serius bargain hunting" stories from the more advanced collectors who teach me about the subtlties of collecting since they have knowledge that I file and use in my hunts. I have the "fel temp" series thanks to Doug and a growing collection of beautiful Nabs thanks to JA. And I find myself showing these coins to my friends because i know more about them.

    It is all good!

    => I totally agree, 100%

    ... but sadly, my lovely wife sees my coin-collecting strategy from a slightly different viewpoint (*sigh*)

    For those of you that like hats, I always enjoyed the seafood option from the Brettian League. The reverse crab is a nice crab but the special one is the on on the obverse. My example is mid-grade as is so often the case with my coins but I once saw one of these in FDC with a bit larger flan and a bit smoother green patina that was a real looker. As small bronzes go, mine was not cheap but perfection went much, much higher. I recommend it to the ones among us with healthy nostrils.

    very nice stevex, it is cool to see another style of the hercules in lion headdress. the horse is pretty awesome also...not a pose you really see on coins.

    Yah, the horse looks a bit like that crazy avatar that Okidoki had, with the two-legged horse!!

    I hated looking at that 2 legged horse. It totally freaked me out.

    Another good looking coin. But did you really pay for only half a horse? Where is the other half? :D

    sadly, there aren't a lot of takers for the "other end" of the horse!! (although it would be pretty cool to have a horse's arse coin, eh?)

    I know that Doug has a couple of 1/2-crocodile coins, but I can't recall if he has any croco-butt coins?!!

    anyways => as always => cheers, fellas!!

    I believe it is a checkbook wrestle when you butt heads bidding.

    I can't help thinking there is a rear half of an animal coin but it is too late to go on a big search. Cut croc rears are available but that does not count. Every time this comes up I fear some new person is missing the joke but half animals often indicate a half denomination.

    Well, I'm fairly sure that the Coin Princess could over-power my frail check-book (cheque-book where we live) ... yah, I've seen the background-shots in a few of her coin-photos, showing warm tropical beaches, versus my background-shots which show nuthin' but white snow except for the bloody carnage left by the polar bears!!

    :eek:
