Both listings appear to be current. They use identical images. There may well be other listings for the same coin; I simply did a Google search for the cert number, and these two auctions are the ones that popped up.

If I had to put money on it, I would bet that the buyer won't receive the coin and slab pictured -- they'll receive, instead, a fake coin, possibly in a fake slab.

Now, it's possible that the Russian listing stole the images from the eBay listing, and that our China seller is an honest businessman selling a legitimate PCGS slabbed coin. If so, I feel sorry for him, because there's no way he'll see anywhere near actual value. Too few people want to gamble that a seller from China, renowned and rising capital of the art of the counterfeit, is offering the real thing.

My buddy in FL bought a PCGS VF25 1893-S off of Craigslist for $1000. Sold it on eBay for $4500, then saw the Craigslist seller selling another one... same grade. He sent his brother to meet the guy and look at the coin. Sure enough... same cert number.

They were all fake coins in fake holders.

So you have more confidence in the Chinese seller than in the Russian seller? ;-)

I think they show pictures of the real deal but will send a counterfeit in a fake slab. Have a look at the seller's feedback...

It sucks to be a male preying mantis. It sucks to be a male Black Widow.

To be fair...it also sucks to be a female Mallard.

I was going to say the same thing. Other counterfeiter sellers have done the same, with both fake slabs and raw coins - picture a good coin, send a bad one.

Look at this sellers completed items too, a long laundry list of the typically faked coins. Mostly crap quality ones, but some more convincing as well. I sincerely doubt this seller ever sold even one genuine coin.
