No offense to anyone but I think they should have placed a 5 or lower limit from the start. That way there wouldn't be as much of a rush, all this confusion, and collectors would benefit more than those more interested in profiting.

Yep, the mint really blew it on this one by misadvertising it and not setting limits early. They'll probably compound the error by not limiting orders placed, but not filled.

2014 coin and currency set is not the lowest.

    1993/94 Thomas Jefferson - 167,703
    1997 botanic garden - 25,000
    2000 millinium - 75,000
    2001 american buffalo - 50,000
    2004 Lewis and Clark -50,000
    2012 making american history - 56,957
    2014 Native American - 38,299. As of dec.7 report.

Botanic garden and millennium also came with $1.00 paper currency.

True, but how many of those sets came with a unique coin? I know the first 3 and the last one did. So, only the Botanic is lower and that's an expensive nickel.

I don't think the mint screwed this up by not having 5 limit from the beginning. Anyone paying attention has been able to order at least 5 by now. I received an order of 5 today, that was placed on the 10th. Still no word on my order of 30 placed on the 4th though. None are 70's, and one has a huge gash on the indian girl cheek. I kinda like it though, looks like a battle scar. w1.jpg w2.jpg w3.jpg w4.jpg

So, the other 4 are at least 69's or ....?

I am not sure... I can see marks on each, but am not good enough of a grader to know the difference in 67-69. I would imagine one would at least be 69 though.

The top photo was shot with my camera the bottom one with my Dino-lite. I like the bottom one better so I may re-do the top one some day. I hope I got the positions right if wrong let me know.
The top or position "A" has a incuse mark in the hair line which looks like a struck thru whatever it is it's not PMD

    Wow that's awful

  16. The default grade for these at NGC is 69.

How can there be a default grade? Don't they have to be evaluated first? Just saying. [emoji4]

How thin is the gold plating on these? With a scratch this deep, should I be able to see a different color under the gold?

Not sure how thick it is, some needs to cut one in half. Of course it's not gold plating, it's manganese brass.

Little better pic this time... I actually like it! I know it hurts the grade, but looks cool in hand. w5.jpg
