I like this one at VF-35, but wouldn't be surprised to see EF-40. Overall, I think I like the look of the coin, but it might be a little too dark for my tastes.
Too much wear, especially on the reverse, for me to say anything higher than VF35. I wouldn't argue too hard with a 40, but not in my eyes.
Something funky going on here. On the obverse, the recesses are just as rough as the high points. That coin has very little wear or maybe none. I am going to guess AU55.
Well, that's humiliating. I would've looked askance at what appears to be a "grainy" surface on the obverse. On the reverse, I would've looked hard at the eagle's left (viewer's right) leg, and the way the eagle's right wing appears to sink into the coin's surface at its base, and I would've yelled "FAKE FAKE FAKITY FAKE". I guess it's time to re-weight my criteria for judging authenticity -- certainly, the lettering on this one shows nothing questionable. And to re-study the way the reverse devices come out of the field on higher-grade genuine coins. Given what I've seen from the TPGs on key dates, I'm going to guess they gave a 45 or 50, although I think it's a technical 35, and a common date would've probably gotten "VF details - obverse scratches" or "graffiti".
