I traded a 1925 Dollar (About MS-61-62) and 1880S Dollar (About MS62) for all 3 Special Mint Sets. They have all original packaging, and the 1965 still has the COA. I also got a PCGS PR69DCAM 1979S Type 2 Dime, and a PCGS PR69DCAM 2000S Silver Dime. I felt like it was a good deal. The SMS might have good varieties in them. They aren't toned from what I could tell in the pictures , but were lustrous. But the 1966 SMS just has writing on the envelope saying 1966 to tell which year it was. (Paid $10 in shipping and tracking too). I also gave him some foreign money as a little gift (Also because I don't collect foreign, and thought he might like it). It was a good trade in my opinion. What are your opinions?

Photos of the coins you sent? Photos of the coins you will receive?

My opinion? You didn't misspell any words.

I think the other fellow got the better end of the deal because of the shipping......if you hadn't paid that I'd have stated that the deal was pretty even. The most important thing regarding this trade, though, is that you're happy with the results. :)

We both paid same amount on shipping too. So I guess we got an even deal :).

...okay just messing with you, but really, I wouldn't have traded those two guys for regular SMS sets.

Don't forget the dimes. The type 2 1979S is a big key in the trade

Did you want the SMSs more than the silver dollars you traded? If so, you made a good trade...if not, you didn't--regardless of the comparative market values.

If unsure about how "good" a trade is, 'tis always best to ask before making it instead of after. Now it is probably not wise to consider the remote possibility of any worthwhile varieties being in the sets, at least in regards to traded-for value, and instead view them as everyday common nothing special sets as chances are that is exactly what they will be. As for the two PCGS dimes, if trying to place a reasonable value on them it is best to search completed sales, focusing more on the low end of the range. $10 seems awful high to ship two raw dollars and you likely could have saved money by sending differently.

With that said, and as was previously pointed out, how "good" this trade was really comes down to your expectations, and if you will be happier with what you get than what was given away. If viewed only from an ease of sale standpoint (meaning how quickly you could cash out with minimal losses) the other guy is probably getting the better end, but if this isn't a concern and you prefer your new coins to the old ones, that is all that should really matter at this point.

Keep in mind, good trades shouldn't always equate to value. You're happy+ he's happy= Good trade

Me I'd rather have the dollars as I don't collect modern but if your happy then is ok. Don't even go there with my grammar spelling typing etc I know well how bad it sucks!
