I have several early large cents details graded for enviro damage that are far cleaner then that

Even looking past the obvious porosity, the coin looks like it has FR-02 detail, to me.

LOL, I've been eyeing that coin for a possible purchase.

Ah, I still like it plenty for the grade. The EAC graders probably would flip over that grade though.

The biggest problem is that it's fake :) The Chinese are getting quite good at it

Thought it looked a bit off especially the reverse they are getting good tho.

Yikes. I certainly didn't catch that. Looking at it again though, it does look like some better electrotypes I've seen.

If it is a fake then yes they are getting good.

If you look at their other completed items there are a handful more US silver and copper coins and many foreign ones that are high quality fakes of more expensive coins, mixed in with some cheap lower grade genuine coins.

So are you saying that this coin is a fake because other coins they have sold are fakes, or is there something on this cent that identifies it a being a fake?

It has the typical look of the chemically induced patina that is seen on their copper and bronze coins. I don't go for that "guilty by association" stuff, I look at each coin individually because they mix it up.

I do think the positioning of the reverse details looks a bit off as well as the obverse does not appear to have any real genuine wear. Looks like a weak struck coin with fake patina. I'll concur it looks real fishy on close inspection

Fake translated grammar is always a sign as well:
"If you have some questions, please write to me, I will reply in the first time, thanks!"
I do not know of any Minnesotans that write/talk this way.

I wouldn't equate grammar that much the way I type everyone think everything I got is fake. The real world every 3rd word outta my mouth get me kicked off ct
