    But you left the dealer feedback saying that he committed fraud and you posted that here.

    So if 47 years as a dealer is not enough experience with ten years of selling on eBay then how much experience does someone have to have before you can hold them accountable? 49? 53?

    I changed the feedback on eBay. I posted that a few pages back. I posted his email here and already said I changed it. His email can say I accused him of fraud. I can post his words all I want. But again I'm just giving the board the email and pics and letting the people here decide for themselves whatever they want.

    Right here:

    See that image? That is supplied by eBay's coin catalog and will appear in the listing.

    And what the heck does offering a 1909-S VDB and sending a washer have to do with anything regarding this thread subject?

    When I see unrelated references like this, I see desperation.

    A PCGS MS64RB 1931-S Lincoln Cent was offered and a PCGS MS64RB 1931-S Cent was sent. The stock photo for the 1931-S Cent from the eBay catalog was used in lieu of a photo of the slabbed 31-S in PCGS MS64RB.

    Thanks for this as I was under the impression that negative feedback could not be changed. The text perhaps, but not the feedback itself.

    I have learned something from this thread.

    I could change both the text and to either neutral or positive.

    As I have stated previously, stock photos are permitted for MULTIPLE listings. Believe me, in the 6 years I spent enforcing them, I learned exactly what they were. Besides, just because they are there does not mean you may use them. Because you see a car with the keys in the ignition does not mean you can drive it away.

    IMO, that washer is just as closely related to a 1909-S VDB cent as that MS66 beautifully toned 31-S pictured is to plane Jane MS64 he received - PARTICULARLY WHEN HE SPECIFIED THAT HE WOULD BE SENDING THE COIN PICTURED. Although you seem to be insistent on justifying the seller breaking the law, stock photos are not my major problem. This is;

    But the coin offered (both in picture and in a follow up memo) was a MS66 beautifully toned cent. I really think Vic would have been quite happy to have received that coin.

    Thanks for that. The way Vic explained it, it sounded like the dealer went to PCGS Coin Facts and lifted the photo and inserted it in his listing to be deceptive. But in reality, ebay automatically inserts the photo into the listing if you use their catalog.

    And yet, against all odds, we're still accumulating useful information -- specifically, this evening, the details of how stock images show up on eBay listings, and how a seller might unintentionally find himself on the wrong side of eBay policy as a result (although explicitly claiming "I'm sending the coin in the photo" is a bit hard to dismiss as anything other than intentional).

    Anyone ever consider that the seller is a doddering old man, wearing depends, and not quite 'with it'? I mean, after all, the guy has been in the hobby for half a century......cut the 'dude' some slack...... devil.gif

    You just can't stop putting words in my mouth can you? I didn't say anything. He did. Next time you form opinions in cointalk it would help you out to read the whole thread. But here I'll make it easy for you ImageUploadedByTapatalk1418091156.080973.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1418091164.552772.jpg

    I have this brilliant idea for you. Stop reading the thread. While you are at it you could also stop telling others when you feel the discussion is over multiple times.

    Yes, several posters just got dinged. I said to cut out the insults to members, and they continued. I have a couple of others who are borderline, but since I do not want to close the thread, I will continue if necessary. Stop rehashing over and over, let it go!
