GTG and what is special?

Not in one of the top tier slabs. Wondering if slab grade is accurate, and/or if it would cross to PCGS/NGC or even upgrade. One can hope!

Would like to know what you think the grade should be, and what might be special about this coin (slab has an "attribute" listed).

I'm not much of a Morgan guy but I'll guess MS65.

 

Looks like a 64 in my opinion. Also I see a dot on wing. Not sure of the VAM though.

 

Im at 65 and vam A 1A or 42

 

Very clean with consistent rim toning I'll go MS63, probably a 64? Attributes Vam A1a

 

Nice coin I'm at 64 Vam is questionable, I'll leave that alone. Depending on the original slab grade if it is in the low 60's I would send it in. If it's anywhere within our guesses, I would reconsider. Thanks for sharing and good luck with your decision!

 

My guess is MS-65.

 

I wasn't thinking of the VAM, but thanks for looking it up! After reading your interpretation and that of @David Betts, I believe it very possibly is a VAM-1A.

 

I like the originality. It may have been knocked from gem because of the hazy peripheral toning when graded. I could see a gem in todays market.

 

64 is as high as i can go.. that patch of toneing above liberty looks like they struck a bug into the coin (sowwy that's what i see lol)

 

It's actually a Planchet Flaw, according to the slab.

Ok, it's been long enough. Here's the coin in the slab. Any different thoughts/comments, now that you see it in the holder? It's in a PCI OGH, which many of these would cross at least at the grade PCI had it.

But for the planchet flaw, I feel like this coin could cross to PCGS or NGC at least at MS-65, or maybe MS-66. But, I'm no expert. The big question is: would it even be worth it to try?

 

I like it in the current slab. 65 seems right to me. No idea about the planchet flaw though.
