I have the complete set of Kennedy's. Up until around 1996 I was able to get most of them from circulation but they were getting harder to find and the bank tellers only had a limited supply of them. So I started to get the rolls from the mint. I still come across them from time to time and I find most cashers are glad to get rid of them from their change drawers. I do have a 1970-D in my coin folder. I got the coin as change, in think in the early 90's. Of course I recognized the proof finish right off. Probably came of a stolen coin set and they cut out the coins for spending money.
I stand corrected. It was only issued in "Mint Set Only". Either way I found this one in my change. Although, I am amazed at how many proof coins I do find in my change.
