This is in a 20th Century US Coins Set I have. The coin came from an AU/BU Mint Roll and has never been spent or circulated.

Want your expertise on the grade?
(based on front, sorry still in display so no back but let's assume it same).

Also, would it make sense to get it graded or will it not add much value wise.
    Thanks in advance.

A lot of these coins were cleaned and glued or taped into their spots. You might want to check the reverse.

My Grandfather put it together. He got me into collecting. I know he didn't glue it but it's good advice. THanks

Would you like to know how many times I've heard that "such-and-such" a relative didn't mess with the coins?

What constitutes an "AU/BU Mint Roll"?

It's impossible to grade this coin from the obverse only. Sorry, I can't take your word for the condition of the reverse.

The photos need to be taken from directly overhead.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

Should we ignore it when you update them the first time?

The coin looks nice, but the images are overlit. Also, there really isn't such a thing as an "AU/BU Mint Roll".

My vote is none of the above--- cleaned and re-toning.

To my understanding Morgans didn't come from the mint rolled but in bags. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Looks to be an appealing example, but like most stated, without a top view, focused, properly lit photo, there's no way to grade. We can't see the surfaces of the coin at all, so no grade/guess possible.

Re: Should you get it graded...

    That's really up to you.

I don't think there's a huge point slabbing coins that are under 500.

They did, but they might have been distributed in rolls after that. Regardless, any time I see a "Unsearched roll of XXX" posted I'm not very impressed. Of course they have been searched by someone at some point (maybe not the dealer) or the people who stick IHC's or 1909 VDB (S??? -- yeah, right) at the ends. Yeah; they must have fallen in there somehow. Those ends of the roll can get pretty loose and I guess it's not too far-fetched these somehow made it in there :V

    In every roll...

Morgans were in mint bags. Rolls are a secondary market, as somebody made a roll, unless a particular bank got some Morgans shipped in a mint bag, and then rolled them themselves back in the 1880s-1900.

    I thought so.

Wasn't there another morgan thread where they posted the sellers pictures and asked for a grade. Several high grades were give, then they got the coin and posted their own pictures. Which then showed all the bag marks on the coin - then guess dropped to mid - to low 60's. Based off this picture I would not guess higher than 64 - but both sides and direct on pictures might make the grade something completely different.

If, and I say, if the picture is accurate, which is hard to tell with a poor angle and image, the coin in the photo is cleaned into submission.
