I may be wrong Chris, but I'm pretty sure it's what the call a die clash on the "Coins and Canada" website. Maybe because the last digit of the date appears to be hanging due to the clash (hanging 3, hanging 4, ect.). I think the "double, triple, ect." refers to the number of staggered clashes. Correct me if I'm wrong eddio.

    Here's a link to the hanging 3 from 1963: http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-prices.php?coin=1-cent-1963&years=1-cent-1953-1964

I bought this, or something very much like it. I can't get the darn software to work for it; the software is called cooling tech.

can you share a link for where you purchased this? I think the one I purchased was slightly different.

I have 1 just like it, made by Califone. I have to say, you have figured it out. I can't get an image worth a crap with mine. If I could cut the LEDs off, maybe? They don't turn off though . I get better images with my iPhone & a macro attachment. Yours however, are very nice!

some collectors have put post-it notes to dim the lights out, try that?

Lots of them on Ebay! most around 20$ or under with the free shipping. Some are sold from overseas so read the location of seller unless you want to wait 3 weeks for delivery.

I bought one of these and can't get the driver to work. I've downloaded three different camera programs and none of them can recognize the USB microscope.

If you are computer savy this link might help. I do know you have to have a computer that is compatible to the microscopes software that will recognize it while in use!

I had a similar set up from ebay. Between the software issues and the fact that the zoom was junk, that camera hit my garbage can at a rate of 400 feet per second. PLEASE tell me this thing works good. Im not asking for great at this point, just something that works.

Eddio...back to the coin...I agree that it is a quad hanging 4. And for those who are wondering what the clash is, it is the neck and chin of queen Elizabeth II.

    Nice find mate!

it is caused by the outline of the queens lower chin and upper neck are transferred to the reverse side of the coin just above the date. cheers,,thanks
