Hey everyone, I have 2 questions. First off I have a 2009 $20 star note, the letters and numbers printed on the note are "JF 02042647 *" and was wondering if this has any value. Secondly, if it's not worth anything besides the face value, what are the chances that years down the road it would end up being worth more and how much? I'm not big on collecting things so really the only reason I would hold on to it would be that I knew it would be worth alot more years later on. If you guys could answer my questions I would appreciate it.
It has a production of 3,200,000. Usually notes with production less than 640,000 are desirable. You could probably sell it for $25 on ebay, but after fees..............If it's in perfect shape, keep it. It MIGHT be worth $40 in 10 years, but most currency collectors will tell you to spend it.....
Thanks for the info Irish. Another question, say it was a production of 300,000, how much do you think it would be worth then if it was in a "good" condition?
All premium value comes from premium bills. A "good" bill isn't typically going to bring a premium unless it's a rare bill. Modern production runs below 64,000 will double your money and sometimes more, but is still highly grade dependent.
I do not know much about bills but I think it may be expensive due to the low number. The run size is big though 3,200,000
