Wow. Just a few contact marks in the wrong area or else this could really grade high. I'll go 65 because of the contact mark just behind the nose, tip of the nose, lower cheek and upper neck. Not large marks but enough to keep it from going higher.
I think that mark on the reverse together with the marks Tom mentionioned will keep it from a 65 , 64+ .
Probably been dipped , but with these pics the luster doesn't look too impaired , though it would be nice to see her in hand .
Rusty, the problem I have with the luster is that it's too blah and spread out. It just doesn't have that cartwheel effect. Chris
You're probably right , that's why I 'd love to see her in hand . I also wonder how the lighting on the pic affected the way the luster looked as there does seem to be some at 9:00 o'clock on the obverse .
I would really need to see the coin in hand before giving it an accurate grade opinion. The photographs are clear but I'm unable to detect the Luster which is one of the main factors. I would give it a MS 65 based on the photographs in this post.
I agree that this coin has, unfortunately, been dipped out. MS63 at best, if it doesn't get a details grade. The biggest giveaway is how "dead" the cheek is, for lack of a better way of phrasing it.
