Hello All. Been a bit. No time. For me, the "In God We Trust" on this coin is not right. It is more obvious in hand under the magnifier, photos tough to capture it. Particularly the N, the O and the D really show it, and the R is filled in with a blob of metal, but it's the whole statement. Can you let me know what you think? I thought this was not supposed to happen any more? Any idea of the collector value, if any? I'll try for some better pictures.
I TOOK A BUNCH MORE PICTURES. I PUT IT BETWEEN OTHER COINS. You can see one coin comes out very clear, but the one in the middle, with the filled in R, I can't get a good focus partly because IT is blurry. I can get a clear picture, but then the print is too small to see. Under the magnifying glass it's so obvious. I don't know hat to do.
Thank you. That was my question. I don't have many examples of any kind of doubling, and I haven't seen any state quarters (which I have worked with quite a bit, much more than liberty). I think it's a pretty cool find. Plus I'm from MA. Does this have any added value?
If it's machine doubling then no, no added value. Your images still aren't quite good enough to give you a definite answer as to what you have. You need a camera with a macro setting. The image of just the motto is the size we need but it has to be in focus.
