Hello, I purchased my first Serbia coin a silver 1915 50 Para. It was a great price and I really liked the look of the coin to add to my world collection. When researching the there are several different medal and coin alignments and this coin seems to rare according Numismatic Guaranty Corp.

The coin I bought was AU condition and I want to make sure I chose the correct alignment. I did the alignment tests and I believe mine is "coin alignment KM#24.3, with designer's name and privy.

They say this coin is rare and I saw some decent dollar amounts. I have no idea if I have a rare or nice coin of value. It does not really matter I just love collecting coins and I get lucky getting good coin with value that great as well. sebf2.JPG serb1.JPG serbf1.JPG

    Any input would much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Looks like coin alignment to me based on the location of the staples in the photographs.

Given the situation in Serbia in 1915/16 not many of these would have survived as coins.

I'm not so sure about that, might be exactly the opposite since anything with silver in it would have been hoarded. Search on "Italy 1919" on eBay for a similar circumstance, the country was starving and nearly destroyed by the war without any reparations or assistance from those they thought were their allies. Yet the coinage of 1919 from Italy is actually pretty plentiful.

Yea, the Serbian silver coins of 1915 are readily available, even in high grades.
