I would call it a 64+. The cheek limits the grade. However, these are often graded liberally, so I wouldn't be surprised by slightly higher.
I'm going to say 64 given the scratch across the cheek. Had it not been for that, I would have been tempted to say 66+. Chris
As far as GSA coins go this looks better than average to me. But there's enough "noise" on it, particularly on the cheek that I think it would grade MS-63.
Very nice for a GSA CC Morgan , 64 . As the pics are quite large , I'd love to see her in hand to see how bad those rub spots are . Nice coin , better than my GSA bought '84 .
I'm a bit surprised to see all at the gem grades considering the marks in it prime focal area of the cheek. MS-63 tops.
where the light hits the coin in front of her chin could be potentially hiding some contact marks, i would give it a solid 64. Too much action on her cheek to make gem.
There are too many abrasions at the high points, on the cheek and in the field to warrant a grade of MS-65, in my opinion. That being said, it looks to have strong luster, lightly frosted devices, and overall excellent eye appeal, especially for a GSA Morgan. I'd personally grade it MS-63+, though a grade of MS-64/4+ by one of the TPGs would not be absurd. Jesse
better than average. are the two scratches on her cheek or on the slab? noise on her cheek and neck are the keys. open field in front of her face is pretty clean. I'm guessing 4, and if two scratches are on the plastic......good shot at 5
I have a MS62 in my collection with deeper marks/scratches in the cheek area... so this one "should" be graded higher.
Thanks for all the input here. Quite the spread of guesses here, so I'm uploading a pic of a different angle.
