I opened a return within 14 days, and the seller said he wont accept it. Whats my next step? the only thing I can do is message the seller.

Open a not as described case and if he refuses to accept a return eBay will likely refund it for you. I guess that's how it would work.

That is not a option, it says a return has already been started. I dont get it. In fact there is no option in any of my purchases to open a case. It only allows to start return

Whether he "accepts" returns or not, I would mail it to him with proof. I had to do that on a group lot once that the main coin was a fake. Ebay told me to send it to him anyway, even though he said no returns and refused to email me back. Ebay buyer protection got me the money back.

I often wonder why people repeatedly mistake this forum for eBay or USPS or you-name-it-company "customer service & help" when such sites have their own information easily accessible to customers.

Furthermore, is YOUR item even eligible for a return per eBay policy. Look it up first or include it and the amount paid and a link to the auction so we can see the item details.

What's there to discuss? The answers are on eBay help and the factors of his return have yet to be proffered. What's more this is for coin chat, his inquiry ought to go in General.

Are you sure your item is eligible? If you paid with PayPal, call them, they can help too.

yes. I got a hold of them, and they said I have to wait 3 day to escalate the return.. So it works just like opening a case

Whether the seller accepts returns or not, they pretty much have to accept them now. I bought a fake coin, seller had no returns as his policy. I contacted him, he would not respond. Ebay had the "return" option, so I clicked it, and after waitign a few days for the seller to respond (he did not), ebay instructed me to ship back, and made the seller pay the return shipping.

This is why he would ask here. A member, whom he 'knows' has had prior experience with the situation.

Which is the purpose of a discussion forum.

This is the 'coin chat' forum, not the 'general discussion' forum. No coins have been discussed. Get it?

Well I assume Brian was talking coins without explicitly mentioning them, but i guess if you are so bothered by it not being in the right section, your best move would be to report it to the Mods, or move along. Simple, right?

Never assume. He never gave us any info as to what it was nor any factors as to whether his item was eligible. Further, he, like many others, run to a forum to have others do the hard work for him rather than do it himself, and yet it still belongs in GD if he's going to go this route. Help was entirely available on the auction venue site, eBay and the proxy PayPal used to complete the transaction. He found out by coming here that he simply has to go back and go through the process of contacting those agents, waiting and filing a case, waiting out the whole affair to return it. Coming here just caused him further delay. Not telling us the factors of his case didn't help it along either. None of this has discussed coins and the fact that he bought a coin or a hat, shouldn't matter. A return of an item bought through eBay/PayPal and questioning the process, belongs in GD!

Someone has their panties in a wad! People come here to talk amongst their peers and friends.. people who have similar interests. People buy coins on ebay, so he asked an ebay question. Calm down.

Where does a going-on-two-pages argument about the proper amount of homework one should do before posting to CT belong?

Speaking of never assuming, don't assume bkozak33 didn't try to find the information he is looking for on eBay's website. No one is obligated to do "the hard work". It's an open forum with many members who have had different experiences. I can't think of a better place to ask such a question when a member is need of some help.
