Is this a D/S Error nickel? I can see something to the left of the D. But I don't know how to classify a D/S error. Thanks in advance.

The right side of the D also bulges out. Could it possibly be a double D?

    So it's not a D/D lol.

How about a D/S, would the strange mint mark be just normal mint mark wear?

There are 10 different varieties of the 1955-D/S. Only the FS-034 (Coneca OMM-001) is worth a premium. This is what it looks like (photo courtesy of NGC)

I own one of the lesser varieties attributed by ANACS, here is a photo.

It is hard to determine from your photos if your coin has machine doubling or is one of the lesser varieties of the 1955-D/S, but either way, in circulated condition, the coin will garner no additional value.

Thanks, I didn't realize there were that many different varieties of D/S errors. I'll have to look them up.

The best resource I have found for 1955 D/S is Wexler's

Scroll down and you'll see pictures and die markers for 23 different 1955 OMMs.

Thanks! I don't think mine looks like any of those, or maybe it does (?).

Actually, looking at it from a different angle, I believe it is an error. The D looks like it's on top of something.
