I see a listing of the 2012-S & 2013-S for a Limited Silver proof set. What does this consist of and where do you buy it from ? I have a subscription order with the mint, but I do not see these listed.

One bought them direct from the U.S. Mint catalog when they became available and were listed there for several months [1], [2] and when the U.S. Mint are sold out, they are typically found in the obvious aftermarket venues: coin expos, online auctions [3] [4] and local coin shops.

Thanks Krispy, I still don't see where to go on the Mint site, other than what you sent me. Do you know if there is going to be a 2014 Limited Silver set ?

Chiefly, knowing one's market and understanding your customer base, not minting more special sets than you can squeeze dollars out of your customers who are already probably buying the same coins in other sets.

2012 and 2013, were set at 50,000 units.

I'm surprised this thread takes this much hand-holding... the 2012 and 2013 sets are sold out and the products removed from the product pages.

You can watch the Mint website's Product Schedule for announcements whether or not with there will be a 2014 set offered. I have not heard yet whether they will issue it again this year or not... though it's getting pretty late in the year now if they will be.

You got that right Krispy. I have enough of these same coins to make a dozen sets. I guess buying the box for a couple hundred makes someones day.

Yep, looks like they were posted in November on the previous sets. Nothing showing yet for 2014.

Cause the US Mint said so and in no other proof set offered by the US Mint can you get that "limited edition" packaging.

The "Limited Edition" Silver Proof Sets contain:

    1 Proof Silver Eagle
1 Proof 90% Silver Kennedy Half
    1 Proof 90% Silver Roosevelt
5 Proof 90% Silver ATB Washinton Quarters

All in limited edition packaging which is the only thing "limited" about the set as the coins themselves are all available separately and in the Silver Proof Set.

IMO, while the set enjoys a certain amount of aftermarket glory, it is a product designed to fool the buyer into spending more money at the US Mint. Much the same as the First Strike™ TPG Slab Labels.

With all these coins sold in so many different sets, it must drive the authors of the red book mad in calculating total mintages.

Nah, they have a few years to work on adding in new Mint products... Those guys never have correct mintages for the past few years anyway as it takes the mint forever to account for its production and timing of publishing the books to have that included. Partly because of such delay I refrain from buying such books annually.
