I’ve been adding to my Morgan Dollars, as if a thousand isn’t enough. This one is a lot nicer than most of them. She’s a 1903 that is slightly golden-gray in appearance. Makes for a nice toning.
My Dad had quite a few when he passed. My brother and I shared the loot. Thankfully, he had doubles on all of them. Most of them a rough. I did get a package deal on the 1882CC, 1883CC, and 1884CC. I bought them from the net. NGC graded them MS65. I would like to get a complete set from 1880 - 1889 and graded at least MS 66. Am I setting my goal to high? I also set up a nice set up with the Mint for the 2023 Morgans and the 2023 Peace silver dollars on their "Mail Order" sets. I keep a subscription on the American Silver Eagle One Ounce Coins as well. (W-Proof, S-Proof, and W-Uncirculated coins.
I just have two 1881 S. I will never collect like you all do. Hmmm one in great condition goes for $45,000 lol! Ha! Kidding.
No it isn’t Randy. There were 4,652,000 minted. Are you thinking about the 1893? All of them have low mintages so they will be difficult and costly to find and add them to my collection.
@Collecting Nut Congrat's on the Morgan! Wow! Only a thousand? I only own 2!!! I'm like Charlie in the chocolate factory. Poor as heck...
It’s been a life long time in buying them. I don’t like buying them at today’s prices but I do sell a few in my antique shop. That helps me to support my hobby. Lol
