Grade this Canada Dollar

What would you grade this 1935 Canada Dollar? I have one in ms 64 that is not toned and am considering this one as a replacement. Would this fit the bill? Would the toning make this any more valuable on the market? To view the reverse click on the thumbnail. For some reason the reverse did not imbed in the post.

you should put this coin, in the world & ancient forums, mite get a better crowd there !!!

 

To me, the toning looks funny in the photos. It looks coppery and then there are discolorations I haven't seen before on the series.

The last 1935 in this topic is MS63 and toned, if you need a comparison image...

I think it just the images, and this is why, thats white paper that coin is siting on, and it doesn't look white to me, in theses images, looks more baby blue, which will turn the color off, on the coin, he should take new images, with a black back-ground, its works the best, for images !!!

I think it's rather nicely toned. Personally would prefer that over a blast white example in equal grade.

 

I think it's a nice looking coin. What's going on from 11 - 1 o'clock on the obverse? The toning is uneven, almost as if the coin was lightly dipped and that area still had residue on it while it toned.

Grade will depend on the luster, but I do think it's attractive.

Rick is correct the toning is a little off thanks to the background (only one available on the counter at the coin shop). I looks like other nicely toned morgans I have seen. If I were to buy it and send it in do you think it would be at least a 64 to replace that current spot in my collection?

 

To the eye it looks like deeper toning. It caught my eye as well when I was looking at it.

 

If you're seriously looking for an answer, I think different photos are a must.

At the moment, the only thing I see is an AT Details grade. Maybe you can search the web for a graded one with similar toning. That should shed some light.

Toning looks natural to me, I just don't like it all that much. The strike leaves a bit to be desired and would only consider it MS-63 due to the large amount of small contact marks.

On a side note, I have always loved this series and consider it undervalued.

 

I think the toning is market acceptable and I agree with Kirkuleez that the number of minor contact marks would put it in the MS63 grade. I would not mind seeing it in an MS64 holder but I would consider it low end for the grade. That said, I don't collect this series and I am just applying general grading standards to the coin.

 

I think it will grade 64 with ease, but, not worth 85 dollars, ms-64 is down, worth 120.00 dollars, offer him 60.00 dollars, and go from there !!!!

 

I agree with other comments in that the toning looks off to me. It would depend upon which TPG that you used ... whether eye appeal figures in the grade.
