Picked up this Philippines note at the Whitman show. Need to research this one what with the skull/cross bones flag and the KKK flag.
Got these for face values today. They have about $600 worth more. I may go back and get them all and sort out keepers later. Almost all the rest are 1934 series. Not may in better shape than these though.
Get them all, if you can get them for face value. Otherwise they could be destroyed. You could have some scarce blocks, mules, and light green seals in the mix that carry a premium even in circulated condition.
The flags on the back represent the Philippines and organizations that fought for Philippine independence. The KKK is the abbreviation for the Katipunan, an organization in the revolt against Spain..
"The flags on the back represent the Philippines and organizations that fought for Philippine independence. . . . " Thanks this note and the new Cuban notes go into my revolution collection.
1928 $20 Gold Certificate, these notes are good sellers if they are in good condition and priced right. I buy them when ever I can !
Picked up more of the stack of old bills today. Still a few hundred worth to get. FYI, the 3rd $20 is a 1928b.
jensenbay; With that many notes coming into the bank at once, I wonder if these are from another collector or elderly people? Perhaps sock or mattress savings? When you see just a few, you think someone's kid is raiding Dad's paper currency collection. A collector probably would liquidate them to a B&M dealer or at a currency show. Did the teller give you any information on them?
She got them from another teller that left the branch. When I go back for the rest, I will ask her if she knows anymore about it.
