Good morning everyone, This came to my store and I was wondering if you had any thoughts on value ? All the best from Iceland Siggi
I’m not a fan of misaligned cut dollars, because people can go buy a sheet of dollars “miss cut them” them and say it was a mint error. Therefor it is not a printing error. Here is a link to actual printing errors http://oldcurrencyvalues.com/Misprinted_Money.html
The note presented by the OP is not a misprint. It was miscut by BEP. The only numbers that were printed for uncut sheets of 2009 $50 were numbered JB99952001A through JB99999999A. Look here for uncut sheet numbers: http://www.uspapermoney.info/groups/f2009_l.txt The OPs note should be sent off to PMG.
Genuine error. As rickmp explained, this note(s) was not released to the public in sheet form. Definitely submit it to PMG or PCGS. The wrinkling in the area of the fold will not detract from the grade, if it caused, or was caused by the error. In CU grade, this should bring $500+.
Because this error was not caught at BEP, there had to be seven more just like that. If those 7 were culled by bank tellers and returned to BEP, this could be the only survivor.
