I wasn't happy with a regular Franklin proof set and needed an upgrade. So I bought all 5 coins separately to put my own individual CAM proof set together. Last coin arrived today so I thought let's take some pics and share them.

Eye-appeal and color were important to me, the technical grade was only secondary. Note the bluish Nickel and the shiny red Lincoln - it's quite a nice contrast. Enjoy!

I couldn't really see the other coins very well, but that cent is quite nice!

Sorry, the pics are not so great as it's nighttime already.

Some more shots of the Roosevelt, which not only has the highest technical grade but also the strongest cameo effect:

I knew some of you would love it that's why I posted it... I'm here to entertain you :cigar:

Question to all CT dealers: What's the retail value of such a set?

I couldn't care less about the PCGS holders... but you're right, I can just add up all the individual values.

Very cool set and it is nice to see that you arranged a display to your liking. I'd imagine that the value of the set, as currently comprised, is a bit lower than previous and that the liquidity above a certain level is reduced, too. However, that may be a very minor point.

Nice set! I like that you cracked out the cent to fit in your set. The '62 Frankie looks borderline cameo, but who cares! Nicely done.

You really struck a chord with me, micbraun, as I have assembled a very similar set. Why did you choose 1962? I did because it's my birth year.

Here's some pics of my set:

    Uhm, pictures? LOL.

I have a graded '63 set and one in a holder like Micbraun's. (my birth year)

I bought a 1964 Kennedy CAM proof set and wanted another CAM set with the Franklin half. I chose 1962 - a common year - as I didn't want to crack out more valuable coins. My birth year is 1982 but there are no silver issues.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I'll tell you this: the value now is much lower than what I'm assuming you paid for it. Much of the price you paid for the set was because they were professionally appraised, graded as 66-67, and designated Cameo. You won't get nearly that much if and when you try to sell the set (maybe a third of what you paid). Proofs in medium grades (even with some cameo contrast), are fairly common and usually trade for a few dollars raw.

It is an attractive set of coins, however. Congrats on finishing it.
