S or D MM Half Eagle

    As you may or may not know Gold Indian Half Eagles have very weak mint marks. What do you think this one is?

    What's the date on it, and is it a year which both Denver and San Fran struck coins?

    Its a 1910 there are D's and S's

    I see what I think you are looking at, but it is way too close to the arrow. If there was a mint mark there, it should almost touch the rim. I'd have to call it a Philly.

    Looks like an S to me. What many folks don't realize is that the mintmark was the only raised portion of the Indian quarter and half eagles. Therefore, the mintmark wore down very quickly.

    The coin is very worn.
