It's gettin' a little late in the year for them to do that. If they're gonna link up some doohickey offering they better do it soon.........
FedEx tracking says my delivery is expected by tomorrow (Sat, 11/01), but USPS says it's out for delivery today (Fri 10/31).
I'm very happy with my order and won't have to send it back, so destroying the shipping box doesn't hurt any more. Kudos to the mint and their new shipping contractor!
The mint shipped the same day I ordered. FedX however, is taking it for a ride. It needs to come to Chicago. So far it has gone from Tn to Ms to Mo, then past me to Wis. That's the last info tracking has. It's not the mints fault but still makes me wonder how they route. They are for my Son and he was going to stop by and pick them up. That may have to be pushed back a couple of days.
I got my other five sets at my PO box today. Went through them, sent 8 sets in to NGC for grading, put one in the safe and had to send one of the ones I got today back because the reverse proof had some white polishing residue on it and some scratches on Kennedy's face. So I should get another hopefully good set back next week and it will go in the safe along with the other one I am keeping in original packaging.
What service level did you use for NGC (Do they force you to use Early Bird for these sets)? I know that they have multiple levels for modern coins. Did you apply for the Early Release label or First Release label (what's the difference between those two similar-sounding certifications)? I am wondering if it would be worth it to get them graded. I have never sent anything in for grading. What were the shipping fees?
Got mine today, and wow I like them. That special uncirculated it the best of them all! I rather like the packaging, a bit bulking but well done......
there is no report today on the sales figure. it might be slow or even did not break the 100,000. i think 1964 design is better look than the 2014 uncirculated one.
The website press release they put out says you must use "early bird" but who the hell really knows. I ended up with 10 sets in 3 different shipments all sitting sealed until I decide what to do.
Ok so at $220 or whatever a set I can't see having all 10 of my sets graded that's twice the cost of the sets themselves. I'm wondering if this one is worth maxing out my employees addresses to get as many sets as possible then sit on them? I did think we would have a sell out by now I won't lie. Maybe the gold Kennedy really did taint market?
Playing tag with UPS on mine...they want a signature but they come at the wrong time. May have to pick them up. What a pain...
Went to the post office this afternoon and all were delivered. Walked back across town with them in one of the US Mint's tote bags.
I ended up purchasing five, sold three for a small profit on ebay. I took a look at the sets and I like them a lot.
