What? 1st days sales were through Tuesday midnight. 2nd day sales would be through Wednesday midnight. As of 9am EDT today, there have been 48hrs of sales.
They could issue any of the coins in different products with the way they left it open. They did do it with the 2012 ASE set.
The web site say the SETS are limited to 300K. With mintage unlimited, it's a sure bet that there will be other offerings of these coins.
BINGO! I had trouble ordering Tuesday, but got the order about 1:00pm CDT and the UPS man just visited me with 2 boxes from that new Fulfillment Center. That is amazingly wonderful considering the wait for HOF, yea, my HOFs came one each in a box over a six month time period. Delivery time this time: 50 hours !
I just flipped my 5 sets at the Baltimore show for a 50% profit. Now I miss them... but not that much.
I really like the enhanced unc coin, but 3 of my 5 have issues, this one being the worse. I will call it the chicken pox variety. Now the next one is good. It almost has a stainless steel look to it.. very nice!
Got my first 5 sets this afternoon..other 5 due at the PO tomorrow. I like the coins, think they look nice...but I could do without all the fancy packaging. I don't think we will ever get away from it, though, because they run it like a business and that means they charge us for fancy packaging, unfortunately. I think the UNC one is pretty boring looking but I do like the other three. I have to give the Mint kudos for shipping so fast and I hope they keep it up in the future. Curious, though, any of you that are attending the Baltimore show, are the TPGs doing any kind of special Baltimore label or just the normal Kennedy 50th label?
Wow! That one doesn't look good with the spots. I'm a little surprised that they allowed that one through the system.
The first three pics are the same coin. The 5 big dots are from my overheard light. You can see the small little dots on the first two pics, they just look darker. I did more of a direct light in the third pic to show it from that angle too. It looks like a smoother part of the coin that was not etched properly.
Having just got mine, I had to actually open and look at it. Yep, that packaging is something else, as big a for the SAE sets. Has anyone seen the reverse on these coins?
I pulled most out to see the reverse. I used a standard screwdriver as a pry, and put something soft on the packaging so the screwdriver didn't dent/damage it.
That's what I mean. I just got my prying tool of choice and it is still like getting an act of congress to get them suckers out of there. One of mine was tilted a little, but this tight packing should eliminate loose coins in the mail. I am putting mine back in in a way to get them out easier the next time.
I can’t believe how fast these went out, I’m still spinning, but, I’m not impressed with the quality I’m seeing so far. Hope the fast food model, fast crap, hasn’t been taken to a new level at the mint.
If they rushed these through and have some bad workmanship they will be flooded with returns. It seems that some outlets have promised people 70's. That may turn out to be a grave error.
