I added a new 1929 1 Krona in a NGC MS 65 holder,,,,,its a really nice example of this date but I'm very parcel to my PCGS MS 63 which has full and I mean FULL LUSTER. because of the metal this coin is made from it tends to discolor or tone very quickly it extremely rare to see these coins like at the moment it was minted. The only reason this coin in not a 65 or better is because it has a small planchet flaw. The MS 65 coin was listed as having full luster and was a little disappointed when I got it in the mail,, at best it had about 75 to 80 percent luster,,,It goes to show you how little people know about Icelandic early coinage even Stacks were I got it from. Here is my NGC MS 65
Very nice example. These often have distracting laminations of the metal, this one has only the slightest signs of that. One of the nicest I've seen for sure
Beautiful coin. I suppose these were all struck by one or two dies. It can be difficult to tell how much luster is left when you aren't very familiar with a series or when the coins are so scarce with luster.
Thank you Ethan ..So do I I would assume that they used two sets of dies ,,which has never crossed my mind. now I'm going to have to really look into this trying to find if there are any varities. Thank you.....It is hard to find them with out distracting plancet flaws.
